The EU wasted 58 million tonnes of food last year, while agricultural overproduction drives emissions and disrupts food systems. When one part of the food chain struggles, the entire system suffers. We produce too much yet still face shortages, creating a vicious cycle.
Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) offers a key solution, helping farmers adapt to climate challenges while reducing emissions. The EU Green Deal and the “Farm to Fork Strategy” promote sustainable farming and a fairer, more resilient food system.
But farmers alone can’t fix this. Reducing food waste and overconsumption requires action from governments, businesses, and consumers. We need systemic change. Understanding and promoting CSA can accelerate this transition. By working together, we can transform our food system and create a more sustainable future.
